A chance encounter with a YouTube video featuring an artist crafting ocean waves ignited my passion. Eager to bring that vision to life, I scoured Maui for resin, finding only one bottle, not the exact type I needed. Little did I know, that mismatched bottle would become the catalyst for a newfound love.
Over the years, I dedicated one day each month to unleash my creativity. In 2021, I took the plunge and listed my first creation on Etsy – an ocean clock adorned with Maui sand. Fast forward to 2023, and the joy of making my first sale was unparalleled. The spark was reignited, and I thought, 'Let's do it!'
In November 2023, armed with newfound knowledge about resin – its types, safety measures, and tools – I decided to turn this passion into a small business. Balancing my commitments as a full-time math content developer and a provider for my family, I embraced the nights as my canvas, accompanied by soulful tunes, crafting resin pop art.
While I adore my daytime job, the joy of creating with my hands adds a unique dimension to my life. After all, who says we can't embrace the best of both worlds?
A bit about me: I'm a former high school math teacher with a degree in mathematics. I harbor a fascination for AI, a realm I explore through my work. With two beautiful sons, my shop, 'Ibi Treasures,' takes its name from my firstborn. My aspiration is that, as my shop gains momentum and sales cover material costs, every sale contributes to a savings account for my sons' future.
